Chatel offers new property opportunities
With this year’s ski season well under way, now is the time that a lot of people considering purchasing a property in the Alps, combine time on the slopes with the opportunity to view property whilst in their chosen resorts.
With a number of new projects announced in the ever popular locations of Chatel, Chamonix and Tignes 1800, coupled with significantly improved optimism within the economy, enquiries and viewings are at a level again, not seen before the global crash.
One resort that we have seen substantial property purchases in, is the traditional and very pretty resort of Chatel in the huge Portes du Soleil ski domain, just 1 hour 20 minutes from Geneva airport. With the release of a number of apartment and chalet projects in recent weeks and more in the pipeline, these include a stunning 4 Chalet Ski in and Ski out development in a contemporary modern style, while this week has seen Phase 2 of a very popular apartment project in the resort just released.
With the advent of the new lift connection linking the Linga and Super Chatel areas of the resort to be completed in 2015 and shown in the photograph below, this will have a huge impact on the ease of skiing the mammoth 650km Portes du Soleil ski domain that criss croses the French / Swiss border as well as investment potential.
The lift in two sections will first take skiers from Super Chatel to Lac du Vonnes at the point shown in the link http://goo.gl/maps/UyiCv From here, there will be another section which will run between Lac Vonnes and Linga. The introduction of these two integral lifts will finally remove the need for skiers to ski through Switzerland to get from Petit Chatel / Super Chatel to Avoriaz and the other French resorts, simplifying the skiing experience enormously.
Infrastructure is also being integrated into the resort so that in addition to the cinema, bowling and library that are already there, a new large aquatic centre is currently under construction over several levels. This will comprise a gym/sports room, several saunas & hammams, large pool, relaxation and wellness/treatment rooms. To be completed in 2014, the centre will have a 2841m2 surface and for those that want to take a look at how it will appear, there is a tour you can take by clicking on the link Youtube Tour
