Whisk your loved one away to the Alps this Valentine’s Day
There are high expectations for anyone in a relationship on Valentine’s Day - and if you really want to earn some brownie points, a bunch of flowers from the petrol station and some chocolates aren’t going to cut the mustard.
Not much is more romantic than whisking your loved one away on a romantic trip, and the Alps in February is a fantastic place to start. With cosy chalets, roaring fires and spectacular scenery it’s got everything you could need for a few days away as a couple.
It doesn’t matter if you’re surprising your boyfriend, girlfriend, husband or wife - an Alpine getaway is a one-size-fits-all gift. Whether they’re a keen skier, it’s their first time on the slopes or they just want to enjoy the scenery, there’s something here for everyone.
The plethora of Michelin starred restaurants in the French and Swiss Alps also means that it’s easy to plan a special meal on the day itself - and there are plenty of beautiful, romantic restaurants that won’t break the bank as well.
If you’re renting a chalet for your getaway you could ask the company or person you are renting from to arrange some extra special surprises; rose petals and a lit fire with a hamper of treats for example.
If you’re lucky enough to be taking a romantic break in your own chalet, think about some added extras to make it a really special holiday. In many resorts it’s possible to book heli-skiing and be dropped right at the top of a piste - sure to appeal to the adrenalin junkies among us! For the more sedate among us, an alpine sleigh ride is sure to give anyone butterflies.
Owning a chalet or an apartment in the Alps, makes spontaneous romantic getaways so much easier - and it’s easier to go away on an impulse at other times of the year too. Take a peek at some of the options available on the site; we offer everything from cosy flats to sprawling chalets, and both options can be excellent investment opportunities too, offering great returns.
