It's never too early to start thinking about Christmas 2017
As the old saying goes, failing to plan is planning to fail - and never is that more important than when you’re planning to go away over the busy festive period. Any elements that you need to book will have greater availability the earlier you sort them out - and you might score some early bird discounts too.
If you’re thinking of spending Christmas in your Alpine ski chalet or apartment this year, then booking your flights now will give you more choice and might save you some money too. Alternatively, if you’re intending to drive and might need to book ferries or crossings, the same applies.
Food, too, is another important element to consider. If you’re planning to cook Christmas dinner at home then you can probably leave off the big shop for another five months or so, but if you’re thinking of eating out or having the meal catered, you’ll be glad to have thought ahead.
Those restaurants which are open on Christmas Day are likely to be booked up fast, and if you’re intending to take a large group of family and friends out for Christmas dinner, you’ll need to make a reservation sooner rather than later.
Likewise, if you’re hoping to have a meal catered at your chalet or apartment, the best of these will also be booked up long in advance of the big day. Whilst the vast array of chalet catering available means you’ll surely find something even at the last minute, the earlier you’re able to book the higher the standard of caterer you will be able to secure.
There’s nothing quite so magical as spending Christmas in the Alps, surrounded by thick snow, pine trees and picturesque traditional villages - but the sooner you start thinking about the practicalities, the better.
If you are considering purchasing a property in the Alps, now is the time to be looking, to ensure you are in in time to experience this magical time of year. Take a look at the wide selection of properties we have available in the Swiss and French Alps, and consider what a great investment a holiday home could be !
